Fandoms: Mary Russell series by Laurie R. King, also nominally a crossover with the Dracula series by Fred Saberhagen (another "More Holmes" rare Sherlock Holmes 'verse) but you don't need to be familiar with that one to read this – a passing familiarity with the concept of Dracula will suffice!

Notes: This is my other Holmestice gift for language_escapes – this was originally planned as my main Holmestice work, but then it didn't qualify for the fest since it's only an excerpt. So this became a Holmestice treat, and I made the Mary Russell & Harriet Vane artwork as well. :-)
