Over the years, I've been very fortune that various folks have asked to translate quite a few of my fics into other languages (most often Chinese, but also a few into Russian and one into French). There have also been a couple times that someone has made fanart, or remixed a fic, or podficced a fic. Every single time, every one of these is such an honor and a delight! It is beyond amazing to think that someone liked a thing I made enough to want to do a further thing with it. And then it's amazing again to see the thing they made, how they interpreted it and what new things they brought to it.

Until now, only one fic of mine had ever been podficced (finnagain's wonderful recording of "Sherlock Holmes and the Mystery of Father Christmas," my very first Sherlock fic). Until...

...two days ago! When [personal profile] averytree podficced not one but TWO of my fics, in two different fandoms. (This is part of Voiceteam, a podficcing team-based, scavenger-hunt-style challenge I'd never heard of until now, but it sounds enormously fun. It runs all of May, so right now there are all these podficcers out there, running around the internet completing various recording challenges!) Akikotree recorded one silly fic in a comedy fandom (John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme) and one serious/emotional/romantic fic in a drama fandom (Call Me By Your Name), which also makes for a nice contrast. Anyway, both are delightful, and I found it so moving to hear my words interpreted by someone else like this. The podfics are:

Since You Ask Me for a Tale of Magic (John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme, gen, rated G, under 10 min)

Summary: Well, since you ask me for a tale of magic, I do have one account you may find…enchanting.

Time Is the Enemy, Time Is the Guide (Call Me By Your Name, M/M, rated T, under 10 min)

Summary: “Imagine,” Elio says. “In twenty years, do you think we’d still be here?” Or: late at night on the bench in the garden with Elio, Oliver thinks about time.

I really encourage you to listen & leave kudos if so moved, or maybe go wander around the Voiceteam collection on AO3 and support some other podficcers and all the cool things they're producing right now. :D

I realized recently that I never posted here about finnagain's delightful podfic of my fic "Sherlock Holmes and the Mystery of Father Christmas." (I linked to the podfic from the story on AO3, but somehow forgot to do it here from LJ.)

Finn's podfic is great, and especially since that was my very first fic in the Sherlock fandom, to have someone show up with a podfic of it was such an amazing, wonderful, delightful surprise!

Here's Finn's podfic of "Sherlock Holmes and the Mystery of Father Christmas" on AO3 or on Tumblr!

(Here's the original fic on AO3 or on LJ – I'll also add a link to the podfic from the fic itself on LJ, which is the step I somehow missed way back when Finn first did this.)
