Remus love
Mar. 10th, 2015 07:46 pmHappy birthday, Remus Lupin! I'd forgotten it was today, until I saw the flood of Remus-centric posts in my friends feed. Oooh, you are all such wonderful Remus fans, and it's giving me warm, fuzzy feelings.
In honor of the day and the spirit of Remus-ness I see around me, I'd love to write a long exploration of why I love him so much and always have, but I only have a few minutes, so I tried to think of something less involved I could post. Something like: recs!
A link to all my recs is always available in the permanent "master list" post at the top of my page, though I wouldn't be surprised if you missed it, since it's pretty buried in among other stuff these days. My recs page is actually two-fold – there's a link for my Harry Potter recs in general...and then a link for just my Remus recs. Yes, he gets a page of his own.

The list includes sections for Remus/Tonks, Remus/Sirius, Remus gen and Remus other pairings. Caveat: I compiled this mostly in late 2013, and have updated it little if at all since then. Late 2013 coincides with when I started making friends in HP fandom – and as I started actually interacting with others, my need to compile my own thoughts in isolation diminished. :-) So all kinds of gems written since then are missing from these lists. (Though most of the stories I've read since then have been through fests such as rt_morelove and the R/S Games, so luckily they're not too hard to find!) This is more of a record of what I was reading when I was reading my way very widely but very haphazardly through whatever Harry Potter fic I could find, but before I stumbled my way into the more personal interactions that are now by far my favorite part of being in fandom.
And, as long as we're doing this, here are all my own Remus stories, all the way from age 4 (his mum's POV) to post-canon (Teddy's POV): THE REMUS STORIES. (The series is marked "incomplete" because my HBP-year novel-length story, the companion to the OotP-year novel-length story, is still in process...but it will be complete one of these days!)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, REMUS! I'll always love you. And yes, I know you're fictional, but, well, nobody's perfect. ;-)
