Easter Sun

Hello there, LJ friends! Yesterday was my birthday, and I found – to my amusement, though perhaps not my surprise – that what I wanted most was the chance to write myself a one-shot. (I've been making myself hold back on the one-shots for a while, so I can focus on my long fic.) Here it is! This is unbetaed and was written fairly quickly, so I'd be honestly interested to hear any feedback about what does and doesn't work.

EASTER SUN

Summary: Even when everything's falling apart, sometimes a chat with an old friend can bring a little sunlight back into the world.

Characters: Ginny, Tonks

Words: ~2,800

Notes: I’ve wanted for a while to write a scene between Ginny and Tonks, but it took a bit to find a spot in the timeline that worked – I wanted it to be during Deathly Hallows, at a time when they could plausibly run into each other, but before the end-game events of the book started going down. As soon as I had the timeline pinned down, the rest of the conversation fell into place! This takes place at the very beginning of Easter break of DH.
