First of all, belated but heartfelt birthday wishes! If this is how you celebrate your birthday, we all win. :)
This really captures Ginny the way she must have felt that year, all the different worries and pressures. I like the idea of her hero-worshiping Tonks, after their interactions at Grimmauld Place, and knowing what Ginny's like.
I never thought about the fact that Neville would have been left all alone at Hogwarts after Easter, with Luna and now Ginny both gone. Brrr. I really, really want lots of DH fic set at Hogwarts so we can see what the DA were getting up to!
Tonks is so vivid here, with her smile she just can't help, and her insistence on being involved with things -- love the way she forgets for a minute that she wouldn't be able to ride a broom. Also love the cheery vision she's holding onto for the future, and telling the baby. Ginny's caught that a little at the end, too, focusing about what's good in her day, and taking the good things as they come.
