Yeah, I was really taken by how the author of that fic took the bits we know about Beth from canon, and really looked hard into what that would actually be like, from the character's own perspective, to be that person who's never imagined (or never had to imagine) a future for herself.
And I'm fascinated and delighted to hear that Beth was your favorite character! That's something people seem to be talking about a lot right now, with the new movie out (which, by the way, is SO good – I recommend it). "Which sister was your favorite? Who did you identify with?" I don't remember specifically having a favorite myself; probably Jo if anyone, and it does seem like most people identified with Jo, understandably, as the protagonist. (Though, delightfully, Florence Pugh who plays Amy in the new movie has said that she did actually identify with Amy as a kid!) So it's really lovely to hear that your favorite was Beth – that does seem to fit you well. :D
