Ha ha ha ha, indeed. Torchwood remains Torchwood, but Jack himself is such a big personality that he deserves (demands?) to be let out into the universe to hit on everyone... (Yes, I once wrote an extremely silly crossover in which he hits on characters from both Firefly and Star Wars simultaneously. Still the only crossover I've ever written, come to think of it – but like you say, Jack demanded it!)
Re: loyalty kink, no, the concept isn't confusing at all, but I think the term is? The term "kink" gets used so, so broadly in fandom (everything from actual kinks in the strict sense to "any thing that I want to express a liking for") that it can be hard to know what it means out of context like that. So seeing the words "loyalty kink" together doesn't register any single concept clearly in my brain. (Actually, come to think of it, I think if it were just the word "loyalty" alone, I wouldn't have been confused at all! But that might just be me.) But now that I've finally figured out what's meant by the term, yup, makes total sense to me. Like my feelings about Ianto/Jack, or the Holmes&Watson UTTER DEVOTION TO EACH OTHER THROUGH ALL CONCEIVABLE ERAS OF SPACE AND TIME.
