BTW, you might be pleased to hear I've decided to go back and start again entirely, so I'm now reading (instead of audiobooking) the first book. And I'm *definitely* getting more out of it this time, and really enjoying it! (Though part of that may also be because, now knowing the plot of the second book, I can spot important things in the first book that I didn't know were important before?)
