I thought Mánasteinn was EXCELLENT – I was so impressed, and it's why I've now sought out more books by him. It's a quick read, too, if you're looking for something not to lose interest in. ;-)
Right now I'm reading From the Mouth of the Whale (Rökkurbýsnir – another case where the English translation of the title is less than inspiring) and it's a bit more of a struggle...I think it may be a case again where I would be getting so much more out of this if I were Icelandic and had all the cultural background!
