Yeah, I think that might indeed be part of it... The narrator wasn't terrible (I actually kind of loved his super-over-the-top portrayal of Joseph Kavinsky) but, yeah, he seemed an odd match for a female-character-led YA book. And I felt like I was missing nuances, somehow, by only listening to it. (And The Dream Thieves was all about nuances, little touches of how Ronan views Adam, parallels/oppositions between how Ronan thinks of Adam vs. Kavinsky, etc.) I'm definitely going to read the third book in book form. :-)
