Ooh, you read Uprooted too! (That was the book I recced at the YA books workshop, when she asked if we'd read anything recently that we wanted to recommend to the group.) Have we talked about Naomi Novik yet? (Have you read any of Temeraire? I just don't feel like I can commit to a 9-book series, but I'm sure it's great...)
I also just saw she said somewhere she's going to make a novel out of her story from that "various authors retell fairy tales" collection I liked so much – that was her Rumpelstiltskin retelling, but with the protagonist as an Eastern European Jewish girl who kind of combines elements of both Rumpelstiltskin *and* the miller's daughter from the fairy tale, and of course with such inventive Naomi-Novik-style magic/world-building. So I'm gonna rec that book to you right now, even if it doesn't exist yet. :-)
