TARDIS has landed

This is the backpack of one of my 8-year-old summer campers. I'm jealous!



(Please note, it comes with its own matching water bottle!)


ETA: The kids' art projects also often seem to incorporate the Harry Potter world... Like, a volunteer came in and did this wonderful roleplaying/storytelling game with them, where they made 3-D game boards and then moved characters through them to tell a story – and one kid made a game board that included a detailed replica of the cemetery where Lily and James Potter are buried! So sad, but adorable. And another drew a pretty rad picture of Harry and Voldemort battling on broomsticks. Budding fan artists!

Isn't that cool? When I admired the backpack, her dad said, "Yeah, she's a pretty hip kid!"

I'm actually the coordinator of the whole program...(definitely don't have the skills to teach art, though I can fill in for a theater teacher in a pinch.) I did all the programming, hired the teachers, arranged the field trips and guest performers and made the schedules for each different thematic week, I coordinate the counselors, and keep things running day-to-day – which lately for some reason has meant a LOT of managing injuries, medical crises and interpersonal explosions.

Today is our last day – hard to believe.

Ha ha, aww! I only wish I could lay any claim to being at all like McGonagall. Maybe a tiny bit, in the combination of caring about each student, but also prioritizing making sure everyone is safe and that things go smoothly...

YES, kids' imaginations are so amazing! They can create play and stories out of nothing.
