Oh, this sounds familiar! My first outline for Kaleidoscope (before it had a name) was only seven chapters long -- though to be fair, this was before DH came out and I decided to fold that year in as well, so it wasn't quite as bad an underestimation as it seems now, heh.
I can clearly remember brainstorming ideas for scenes for this story while on long hikes through the wilds of Iceland three years ago; I found myself doing the same when I returned to Iceland this year.
What a lovely memory and association to have with your project.
(I'm currently still dealing with work backlog, and trying to move forward on some of my own fic writing in what little free time I can squeeze out, but I'm looking forward to starting reading soon...)
