Right?? The Louisa-May-Alcott-pseudonym book was great fun in its own right, but even more so knowing it was *her*. (I like to imagine her cackling with glee at getting to write about women with no moral code at all, after all those years of Little Women, though I think it was actually the opposite – she wrote the thrillers first.) I'm definitely going to track down more of her pseudonymous works at some point.
"I Capture the Castle" was delightful. I know it's a classic, so I'm kind of surprise I didn't stumble on it sooner. (I think partly it's the odd title, which sounds like a children's fantasy rather than a coming-of-age.)
And yes, that flash fiction collection was really neat for the insight into the very varied directions people can take flash fiction in. I'd imagine any well-curated flash fiction collection would be able to do the same, though...or were you interested specifically in the crime aspect? ;-)
